![]() I can't tell if the cloudiness is just wear on the finish or accumulated grime. However it has some scuffs/dents and a cloudy film covering parts of it. The stock is in pretty good condition for its age. Are lever action rifles normally difficult to cycle? Would cleaning it generally help (and be worth the effort)? I am hesitant to disassemble the action for a thorough cleaning because of its complexity. I can cycle it with my trigger hand while the other supports the stock in a firing position, but it takes a lot of effort to lock it into place (and beats up my hand!). I've never owned a lever action rifle before, but the action feels pretty rough. Winchester model 88 lever action in 308 feel free to text with offers. I cleaned up the scope glass and exterior, bore, and chamber the best I could with Hoppes #9, q-tips, cotton pads, and a bore snake. Very good condition Winchester Model 88 lever action in. It was stored in the closet of a two-smoker home for a number of years, and the grime buildup on the scope glass was enough to reduce visibility by ~half when looking through it. ![]()
